Changes to the 2017 Pattaya Amateur Golf Series

Firstly Dave and I would like to thank all of you for making the 2016 series the best ever, we hope you all will join us again this year. Special thanks also goes out to Jeff Wylie, Steve Shepherd, Mark Rogers and Da for their help in making each day run as smoothly as it can

As many of you will already know we have a new sponsor for the 2017 series. The New Nordic Group are now our major sponsor and hope you will support them where you can.

Now into the nitty gritty………….we have a few changes to the series that we would like to explain

Handicaps

All players are welcome to play in a PAGS event but only those with a USGA based handicap will be allowed to win any of the flight prizes. Handicaps must be issued by either:

• Birdie www.birdie.in.th
• Pattaya Sports Club www.pattayasports.org
• European Golf Assocation www.ega-golf.ch

Any other handicapping association will be case by case and at Shane’s discretion

ALL PLAYERS ARE REMINDED THAT WHICHEVER ASSOCIATION YOU USE TO MAINTAIN YOUR HANDICAP, THE HANDICAP IS STILL YOUR RESPONSIBILITY AND YOU SHOULD ENSURE IT IS UP TO DATE AND ALL YOUR SCORES GOOD OR BAD (IN THAILAND OR ABROAD) GO INTO YOUR PLAYING HISTORY. IF YOU HAVE 2 USGA BASED HANDICAPS PLEASE USE YOUR MOST UP TO DATE ONE WHEN ASKED AT REGISTRATION

THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE INTEGRITY OF OUR EVENTS AND INTEGRITY OF THE GAME OF GOLF

Tournament Format

All Men play from the White tees

All Females play from the Red tees   

Flights will be:

Flight A: Lower 33% of the fields handicaps 1st, 2nd and 3rd

Flight B: Middle 33% of the fields handicaps 1st, 2nd and 3rd

Flight C: Higher 33% of the fields handicaps 1st, 2nd and 3rd

Ladies 1st, 2nd*

*If over 12 females players

Teeing Handicaps

Everyone will be playing course handicaps this year which is why it is important to maintain a USGA based handicap index

We are playing the last WEDNESDAY of each month

Order of Merit

The Order of Merit prize for 2017 will be an all expenses paid 2 day trip to Black Mountain, Hua Hin

Presentations

Presentations will be held at the Hemingways Restaurant and Bar (Where the old Shenanigans was ) in Jomtien at the normal times:

Food served at 7pm

Presentation at 8pm

Lucky Draw 8:30pm

Golf Shop

There will also be a small golf shop at the Hemingway’s Restaurant and Bar for exchanges of prizes. Exchanges can be done at anytime. Also those who can not attend the prize presentation can collect their prize from Hemingway's at anytime too. (Just ask to see the Manager)
