Category: Golf Course Review
We got invited down to see the progress at the new Chee Chan Golf Course located at Silverlake this afternoon. Our first question to the general manager, Brodie was when is it going to open? he told us that 9 holes will be ready at end of April and 18 holes ready by June this year, looking around that seemed pretty optimistic but we all know how quickly things can move here when all hands are on deck and those hands are working 24 hours a day at the moment.
The course will be a 5 star course priced around the 3-4000 baht green fee mark inline with Siam Country Club. The course has a very Siam like feel about it, we didn’t get to play but drove the entire course in a buggy. The holes have undulating fairways with deep greenside bunkers and fast, relativity flat greens. The Tees, Fairways and Greens are all in similar condition to Siam Old Course.
The backdrops on all of the holes are superb! You can see the Chee Chan Buddha mountain from pretty much every hole as well as views over Pattaya, Silverlake, the white Temple at Wat Yansangwararam and other temples.
The clubhouse has a grand entrance which is still under construction. Clubhouse facilities and surrounding area will include a full length driving range, large practice putting green, chipping area, massage, large changing rooms, pro shop, VIP areas and a restaurant overlooking the course.
It's going to be one of the best with a price tag to match
