If you're golfing in Thailand, then you'll definitely want to know how much to tip your caddie. In this blog post, we'll give you a breakdown of the tipping etiquette for golf caddies in Thailand. We'll also tell you how much you should tip depending on the level of service that your caddie provides. So, whether you're a first-time golfer in Thailand or just need a refresher on the tipping etiquette, read on for all the information you need!
When it comes to tipping golf caddies in Thailand, there is no hard and fast rule. However, it is generally expected that you will tip your caddie somewhere between 300 - 500 Baht per 18 holes. This amount should be given at the end the round, and should be given directly to your caddie. If you're happy with your caddie's service, then we recommend tipping on the higher end of this range. However, if you feel like your caddie could have done a better job, then a lower tip may be appropriate.
At the more expensive golf courses the range is 400 baht - 600 baht per 18 holes. These courses usually have bigger and more experienced caddies, so they will be able to provide a better level of service.
If you're playing at a cheaper or more budget-friendly golf course, then you can expect to pay less for your caddies services. In these cases, we recommend tipping somewhere between 300 - 400 Baht per 18 holes. Even though the quality of service may not be as high at these courses, your caddie will still appreciate a good tip!
No matter what level of golf course you're playing at, remember to always show your appreciation for your caddie's hard work. A good tip is a great way to do this, and it will ensure that you have a great experience while golfing in Thailand!

As a rule of thumb, the tip should at least be equal to the caddy fee. If you are a regular visitor to Thailand or an ex-pat playing with a golf society, and pre-book a favourite caddy, I would tend to give slightly more than is suggested in the article. March 2023
