Kanchanaburi is world famous for the bridge on the River Kwai but to the local golfing community in Thailand it is famous for its world class golf courses. There are 5 great courses in this area and all fantastic value for money. One of the most well known courses is Blue Sapphire and anybody that visits the area with their clubs must play this course. Kanchanaburi is only about an hours drive from west Bangkok so it’s possible to go just for the day if you prefer the bright lights of Bangkok for accommodation and entertainment. If you were to stay in Kanchanaburi for a number of nights to play all the courses it is an experience to spend at least one night in one of the many floating houses on the River Kwai.
